Mahe to Praslin

Tuesday 12th April

After our morning cuppa we were up and dressed ready to hand back the keys and make our way to the jetty. After returning our hire car we had breakfast at the port and boarded the catamaran at 1000am. We left just after 1030am for an hour crossing. It was very windy but lovely as it was another hot day.

The views of the other smaller islands and as we came into the jetty at Praslin were stunning.

We collected our bags and walked the short distance to our guesthouse for the next 4 nights. The lovely host greeted us with cool flannels and some delicious coconut nougat! After welcoming us she left us to settle in.

We had a little rest and then ventured out to explore in the late afternoon. We walked into the nearby village getting some provisions along the way.

We had a nice wander back seeing some lovely flowers, sunbirds and Madagascar fodys en route.

We bought some delicious veggie tarts from the local bakery which we enjoyed for dinner on our terrace. There is a little beach at the side of our apartment and we went to sleep with the sound of the waves lapping at the shore....
