We had arranged a car and driver to pick us up from Baramba and take us on to our next stop at Habarana and our accommodation at Mutu Village. Ahead of time he arrived and we left just before 10am. Unfortunately, the A/C was not working well and the traffic was very busy so we were pretty warm in the car. We made a stop en route at Dambulla caves - this was an after thought but turned out to be well worth the stop and a highlight of the trip so far.
After our time at the caves we continued on to Habarana arriving late afternoon.
Regrettably, the accommodation and location did not live up to our expectations and, despite a decent dinner on the terrace outside our room and some pretty bird life we made the decision to move on the next day. We both had a fitful night after a long day.
