The Mexican Gulf Coast

At the end of our stay in Valladolid we headed west to the colonial town of Campeche situated on the Mexican Gulf coast. We had high expectations of Campeche and we were not disappointed. Yet again we could not fail to be impressed by the town, the locals and the great food! We were in town for 4 nights and we stayed at the lovely Hotel Socaires (www.hotelsocaires.com.mx).

Our accommodation was located within the old town and so easy walking distance to the main Plaza, restaurants and only metres from the sea!

Whilst in town we discovered a delightful vegetarian restaurant where we ate breakfast every day and dinner twice!

We cycled the length of the "malecon" and we enjoyed some fantastic sunsets.

All in all our stay was just perfect!
