United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi

Our first ever visit to the Middle East and we were unsure of what to expect when we arrived in the United Arab Emirates. Initially, we spent a couple of weeks in the capital, Abu Dhabi. The weather was comfortable with plenty of warm sunshine and low humidity for the most part.

However, we arrived in a dust storm which apparently was one of the worst for some years! A new experience for us for sure!

The city itself is quite compact and we were able to explore on our bikes easily, cycling the coastal path known as the Corniche which afforded us great views of the Arabian Gulf.

Our base was about 12 miles out of the city on a complex of mostly expats. The view as perfect for our nightly sundowners!
