Siem Reap, Cambodia

We have wanted to visit Cambodia for some time and after three days here in Siem Reap we can unequivocally say that we are in love with the place! The sights, smells and sounds can at times be an assault on the senses but more often than not this is in a good way. Mimosa trees are in full blossom, orchids are flowering and at this time of year it is still pleasantly green everywhere. The streets in the main town are surprisingly clean, there is an abundance of vegetarian restaurants and cafes, beer is the cheapest thing on the menu (!), the people are friendly and we just love the overall vibe of the place. Locals, expats and tourists mix easily and the bohemian and obvious French influence only adds to our enjoyment. We feel as if we have found our spritual home.
