Road Trip 2014 - Alsace, France

Whilst we have explored and know the south west and south of France very well this was to be our first visit to the East of the country. We had read a little about the Alsace region ahead of our trip and it seemed to tick all our boxes; pretty towns, scenic, wine and cheese!! So, we were very much looking forward to travelling through this area. We followed the wine route through the Bas Rhin and the Haut Rhin and we stayed at a free camping spot in Obernai at a local wine producers premises and, we also had an overnight at Camping les Trois Chateaux in Eguisheim.
The marked difference for us was the German/Swiss feel to the region. The architecture and the language both reflecting German and Swiss styles.
