And so we continued heading West, next stop Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of our favourite stops. Arriving mid-afternoon, we were able to explore the town, churches, outdoor market and sample a Marguerita on the terrace of a local eatery! Add to that the fact that our room at the local Best Western had been upgraded free of charge and you can see why we enjoyed our stop here!!
We left Santa Fe the next morning, reluctantly but what a treat we had en route to Flagstaff, Arizona. There was a dramatic change in the scenery and local topography as we crossed the border into Arizona. We stopped at the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Park where the sights have to be seen to be believed!
