Lovely Luchon.

Bagneres-de-Luchon, also known as Luchon is a spa town in south western France. The town is situated in a beautiful valley at the foot of the central Pyrenees. Luchon is a fashionable resort celebrated for it's thermal springs. One of the finest promenades (in our view) outside of Paris is the Allees d'Etigny, an avenue planted with lime trees.

We were lucky enough to spend a very pleasant week here recently. Without any responsibilities we took full advantage of the opportunity to relax and we spent our time reading, walking and enjoying the fabulous countryside and scenery.

One of the local walks we did took us high into the hills where we had panoramic views of Luchon.

Whilst we didn't ski on this occasion the snow was still good enough even in late March and our visit to the ski station at Superbagneres afforded us yet more great views of the surrounding mountain peaks, river and valley below. We even caught a glimpse of an eagle as it soared on the thermes foraging for food.

Our accommodation for the duration of our stay in Luchon was at a fabulous apartment, perfectly located for exploring the local area. www.luchonlocation.com
