Mostly, the weather was fine and we were able to enjoy the local surroundings and villages including an impromptu picnic in the gardens of Burghley house. http://www.burghley.co.uk

The village of Geddington where we were based is a pretty quintessentially English village with the added bonus of also having an Eleanor Cross at its centre. The Eleanor Cross is one of a series of famous crosses erected by Edward I to mark the resting places of the body of his wife, Eleanor, when brought for burial from Harby in Nottinghamshire to Westminster Abbey.
