Springtime walks come rain or shine!

Our diaries are pretty much full with pet and house sitting assignments throughout 2012 and we also have confirmed bookings for 2013 so, happy days! From Wales we made our way to Northamptonshire where we spent a long weekend in a beautiful old school converted into a family residence. Our charge was a gorgeous Newfie who loved her walks in the nearby woods.

Mostly, the weather was fine and we were able to enjoy the local surroundings and villages including an impromptu picnic in the gardens of Burghley house. http://www.burghley.co.uk

The village of Geddington where we were based is a pretty quintessentially English village with the added bonus of also having an Eleanor Cross at its centre. The Eleanor Cross is one of a series of famous crosses erected by Edward I to mark the resting places of the body of his wife, Eleanor, when brought for burial from Harby in Nottinghamshire to Westminster Abbey.
